    1) Rt Hon C J F Russell of Woburn; Sam Whitbread esq MP of Kensington Middx; William Stuart of Tempsford Hall esq, John Harvey of Ickwell Bury, esq. 2) Richard Orlebar of Hinwick esq, William Francis Higgins of Truvey (new trustees) recites: Public meeting 28 April 1855 appointing committee. - committee meeting 11 August 1855 resolve to try to lease land nr Northey Farm for 12 years. - public meeting of subscribers 26 March 1856 - trustees shall be six - notes Brandreth & Barnard now deceased. - 27 June 1856 committee agree to purchase land - Deed of appointment & grant T C Higgins to trustees. - School house & buildings erected. - acting under 17 & 18 Vic Cap 86 'Act for better care & reformation of youthful offenders in Great Britain' was certified 9 April 1857 as efficient Reformatory School. - 3 March 1875 meeting to fill places of deceased trustees. - piece of land in Turvey & Carlton where formerly stood 2 messuages in occupation of John Ellington & Lawrence Bracegirdle. - piece of land called Gurnescroft [sic - should be Grimescroft] - 2 acres abutting E common land called Gurnescroft Lane [sic] - another 1 rood in Carlton (both having lain together for many years) - 2 acres in Carlton (abutting above Common lane E) - all 3 pieces now laid together abutting E Common left; N S W land of T C Higgins.
