  • Scope and Content
Dear Joan, Many thanks for your letter. It is nice to hear from home and we should welcome letters from anyone. We have had a large number of letters and as neared Australia we had marconigrams on board from people in Australia. We have been met at the ports with flowers and fruit. Baptists met us at Perth and Adelaide and Melbourne. The newspapers come through quite well so I keep a little informed but the news is about a fortnight old when we get it and the daily news sheet issued on board contains now news chiefly of Australia. So I shall be glad of any news you care to send. The Intelligence Digest has not come. We have had a good voyage and although it has been rough here and there on the whole the sea has been kind. We arrive early tomorrow morning Sunday and a whisper came that Baptists will be there. My thoughts are often with you all. Pass on my Best Wishes, Yours H.C. Janes
