-- William Payne deceased was seized of the Parsonage of Podington held of the King by knight service. He bequeathed it to Sybill Payne his wife for life with reversion to Dame Sybill Yelverton wife of Sir Christopher. Payne died 16 April last, Dame Sybill Yelverton died November last. Her son, Henry, was 10 days old and is now ward of the King. His inheritance is impaired by the waste committed by Sybill Payne on the parsonage house and gardens, orchards, outhouses etc. – some pulled down, ‘others are like to fall down’, she has also destroyed the quickset hedge ‘of ancient continuance, serving as a mound and special defence’ to part of the premises and has sold it to William Bletsoe, gentleman a kinsman. She wastes the woods and has lopped and sold timber to John Whitbie, junior clerk, Thomas Jenison, Esquire, and others and has sold timber blown down. She has made Thomas Cobbe and John Mascall her salesmen. Asking for an injunction.
