    Copy photograph of the cast of the play Cranford, based on the novel by Elizabeth Gaskell, performed to entertain evacuees and staff sent from West Hampstead to Elstow. The photograph depicts six women in c1840s period costume in a garden with a dog. Only two of the are identified by the donor: Miss Francesca Burman (employed by London County Council to help occupy the evacuees and their families; in maid’s costume, standing far left) and the donor’s mother Louise Harries (standing second from left)
