- Scope and ContentRichard Pygot, one of the King's sergeants at law, arbitrator chosen between William, abbot of St. Albans and John Cokayn, Esq, to settle the title and right to 2 1/2 acres in the west end of Dolough Crofte belonging to John Cokayn, the croft being enclosed with hedges and ditches in Luton, having heard evidence of both parties and of witnesses, and having determined the bounds, awards that John Cokeyn shall hold it to him & heirs as of old right forever. He is to discontinue an action for trespass against the Abbot, now pending this Hilary term in court of Common Pleas. The parties have bound themselves to abide by his award touching the costs of other suits and actions, provided that the award is made by the feast of St. Martin in winter next. seal on tag, (fragment) brown, round, conv.
