    --- Manor of Hoo, Stapulford Mill, and appurtenances, sec. of Luton, reserving to (i) the 'Tower otherwise called the forefronte of the said Manor', and all woods, underwoods, hunting, hawking, and fishing of the same, with all manner of fines, reliefs, escheats, amercements, heriot and all other profits of the manor court. From Michaelmas 1538 for 30 yrs @ £20 p.a. distraint clause and re-entry clause - arrears of rent (ii) to keep all the 'dawbyng and underpynnyng' of the manor and mill except the Tower and forefront, at his own cost; (ii) to have responsible fuel, carbote, and ploughbote, and to dwell on the manor unless (i) permits otherwise.
