- Admin/biog historyThe Playford Trust was set up under the will of John Playford, the son of John and Cath Playford, who was born 1812 at Heckingham, Norfolk and died 1873 at Gillingham, Norfolk, where he lived at Boat House Hills. He was a bachelor, and took over the care of his deserted sister's children. She was Mary Ann Grimmer, the wife of Robert. Robert Grimmer deserted his family c.1850 and is reputed to have absconded to Australia.
