    ‘having some doubt within myself, whether I have a vote for Northamptonshire is the occasion of my giving you the trouble of this,begging the favour of your opinion, whether you think I have one or not, since if I have I should be desirous of giving it for Mr. Hanbury, my case is that about twenty years ago my brother Smith mortgaged a freehold estate of about £4 a year in Denton for 1000 years to Mr. Betty and about the year 1732 or 1743 I paid off the mortgage being £76 odd money and after I took possession of the estate, and have been in possession of it ever since and now am so, I have consulted Mr. Horton upon it and he thinks I have no vote..........’ not dated.
