Scope and Content
-- ‘we are extremely surprised at this Punctilio of Priviledge and our expectations much damped. However if we cannot attack his Lordship at present (we shall be cautious for the future how we have anything to doe in this affair with a nobleman) yet wee hope there may be methods still concerted to prevent any further tender or appearance of his Deputy .... whether it may not be proper to exhibit articles of Neglect against his Lordship though he cannot be summoned untill divested of his Priviledge by Prorogation of Parliament and untill there be an actual summons the bare exhibiting of Articles we apprehend cannot amount to a Breach of Priviledge...... whether the Exhibition of such Articles may not be a plea to a Mandamus in case of one in the interim...... we have resolved to let the Court to drop and do no business there or in Council until we are rid of Mr. Dixon’
They will pursue Orlebar’s directions as to what actions to take next.
