Estate was entailed by John Barnardiston, grandfather of Robert. Hawes was “fearful whether the said entail might be cut off by a recovery or not”. Barnardiston wishing to suffer a recovery to provide for his younger children, Hawes offered to pay to younger sons within 2 years after Barnardiston’s death, £1200, which Barnardiston accepted.
