Charles Halworth says "on the 23rd March last I went to the Dog and Badger at Malden and saw Thomas Hine who was in custody on suspicion of stealing pigeons that John East in whose custody Thomas Hine was asked me to write some tickets I did so and Thomas Wheeler who was then present tied them on the pigeons and we let them fly two at a time.
