    "This deponent on his oath saith that on Wednesday last the 21st instant about a quarter before ten in the morning he was at work in Mr Burr's rick yard he saw William Croft and two others come across the orchard to the rick yard with a dog, William Croft lifted the dog over the pales, the dog siezed a fowl, Croft got over the pales and picked it up. The Dog then ran after some more and they ran into the yard. The Fasher came out and beat the dog off. I saw Croft put the fowl under his hock[?]. He then jumped over the hovel and went away."
