- TitleCopy resolution of Privy Council for the release of Sir William Russell from the Fleet prison, to which he had been committed for misdemeanours 'touching the matter of navigation in the river of Avon undertaken by William Sandes, esquire'. The question of compensation was postponed, during good behaviour, save for payment to the 3 men 'assaulted and beaten by his servants in their employment upon the said river', £20 to one and 10d each to 2 others. All boats which Russell has detained from Sandes' agents are to be restored. On the same page is a clause of another order 'made before this time': Commission for apparently the same navigation to 'be registered among the acts of this Board'.
