    (i) Thomas Sotherton of Taverham, Norfolk, esq. (ii) Lewis Monoux and Phillip Monoux of Gray's Inn, esqs., executors of Sir Humphrey Monoux deceased. Recites that Sir Augustine Sotherton late of Taverham knight, father of Thomas, said Thomas and William Mordaunt mortgaged for £1,000 to Sir Humphrey Monoux, 19 Dec. 1659: -- messuages and lands in Norfolk. Michaelmas term, 1659 Sir Humphrey obtained a judgement of debt against Sir Augustine for £2,000, which appears by an indenture of defeasance 19 Dec. 1659 to have been only for performance of covenants. Mortgage was not paid and estate became Sir Humphrey's. That Sotherton himself and John Breeze and Stephen Gooch are tenants of Lewis and Phillip Monoux. Witnesses: Henry Kingsmill, William Peck, Joseph Harston.
