Scope and Content
Podington: Reginald de Grey holds 1½ knight’s fees in Podington in chief from John de Wahulle of the said barony, and pays 11 shillings per annum to the ward of Buckingham castle, 8 shillings to the sheriff etc. He has 3 carucates in demesne, which contain 180 acres land and 2 acres meadow, 8 acres wood and a windmill. He holds 11¼ virgates in villeinage, each owing 1 mark per annum or “opera” to that value, and the holders of these cannot marry their daughters without the lord’s consent.
