Includes a history of May day celebrations at Elstow, partially repeating the notes of 1953, but mentions that the 1952 Festival was filmed by the BBC and that a photograph of the 1953 event appeared in America's National Geographic. Front page photograph [see X 896/4/12 for original] depicts maypole dancing as taken by Peter Burr [of Drake Sadler, photographers] from Elstow church tower in 1954. Centre pages are heavily annotated.
