Reciting will of John Miller, deceased, dated 2 August 1836 by which he devised all his freehold and copyhold estates in Potton to his wife, i) for life. After her death or remarriage then property to sons, ii), iii) and iv), and daughters, Agnes Gadsby, Mary Ann Miller, since decease, Dorinda Kitchen, and Martha Jeeves. Wife and friends, John Dowsett Harrison, 12 Poland Street, Oxford Street, upholsterer, and James Harrison, 37, Hampstead Road, St Pancras, Middlesex, printer, appointed executrix and executors. John Miller died on 19 November 1837. Will proved - Bedford - on 1 December 1837. Daughter, Mary Ann Miller died on 31 March 1846 leaving ii) as her heir. Now in consid of £260 paid by viii) to i) to vii) i) to vii) grant to viii) - piece of land containing 2 rds 16p being part of field numbered 24 on plan made by viii) and deposited with the Clerk of the Peace, in Potton [being garden land occupance by George Croot] - mines, minerals and timber in or under said land said money is paid not only for land but also for satisfaction for all damage done by said railway and for any communications which might otherwise be made for accommodation of adjoining property Company covenants to maintain a gate from the occupation road leading to the Sandy-Potton road in to such part of field 24 as is severed by the railway and lies on the South thereof [marked A on plan on deed] Company will also maintain a gate into field 23 at pt marked B and also a road over the field into North part of plot 24 and a gate between the said 2 fields [C on plan]. - right of way over field 23 to North of railway line, on foot, horse and cart, carriages, sheep and cattle.
