    i) John Harvey, Ickwell Bury, Esq ii) John Edmund Audley Harvey, Lieutenant in H M 42nd Regiment of Foot ( son of i)) iii) Lieutenant colonel Robert Henry Lindsell, Fairfield, Biggleswade; Charles Henry Tennant, Privy Council Offices, London, Esq reciting marriage settlement of i) and his wife, Anne Jane, and that, in addition to a child who died shortly after birth, there were two children only of the marriage, Beatrice Susan Audley Harvey who has attained 21 and ii) who attained his majority on 24 December 1871, reciting deed of 26 December 1871 being a disentailing assurance a) said John Harvey b) said John Edmund Audley Harvey c) Samuel Veasey, Baldock, Herts a) as tenant for life and b) with consent of a) as protector of said settlement granted and assured to c) -all Manors etc settled by said Indenture of Settlement freed from the estate in tail male, now to resettle the property i) and ii) appoint that --all Manors etc as in the 1st part of 1st schedule, subject to jointure of £600 shall be held to uses, as later mentioned also i) grants to iii) --all property to which he has become entitled since date of Settlement, also to uses small portion of property in 1st part of 1st schedule being part of old estate of i) at the time of his marriage settlement i.e. --land in Upper Caldecote, near the new church and schools, in occupation James Bates (11 acres) North (part) road to Biggleswade North (part) church and schools East Rev John Taddy South other land of John Harvey this land is to be held to use of i) property in 3 rd part of said schedule to be held to use of ii) to secure annual payment of £200 after decease of i) estates to be held by ii) in tail mail, with provisions if no male, or other, heirs. If someone inherits who does not bear the name or arms of Harvey then he shall take the surname of Harvey in addition and bear the Harvey arms in substitution for his own. Various other provisions with iii) as trustees, power to appoint new trustees Schedule: 1st part: --Manors of Ickwell Bury and Northill --capital messuage called Ickwell Bury, pleasure grounds and Park --lands adjoining said Park --farms etc lands, woods --Ickwell Old House at South East corner of Ickwell Green, once in occupation Charles Fyshe Palmer, then Susanna Harvey, widow, deceased (mother of i)) (3acres 1r 2p) --close adjoining called Home Close or Little Moat Close (2acres 3r 4p) --Great Moat Close adjoining (4acres 1r 36p) --messuage with garden, 2 cottages and paddock and close (2acres 2r 6p) on East side of Ickwell Green in occupation George Course, Elizabeth Burrage and William Summerfield --Harveys Close (part old enclosure, part new allotment) with spring or grove at North West corner (6 acres 3r 22p) --Marsh Corner lying between said last mentioned close and road from Northill to Biggleswade (5acres 0r 10p) --Marsh Field (11acres or 5p), Hedge Field (13r 3r 25p), Printings Close (20acres 3 r 29p), Beesons (28acres 3r 16p), Turnpike Close (31acres 0r 20p) and College Piece (19acres 0r 22p) being other parts of lands alloted under Northill enclosure award to predecessor of Charles Fyshe Palmer --messuage with farm etc (2acres 3r 15p) on South side of Caldecot Green. All such last described lands forming one farm are in occupation Griffin Cant. All which premises (with Covin Close since sold to George Inskip, now deceased) were conveyed to i) by deed of 5 October 1842 and were afterwards conveyed to John Harvey Astell and Charles Barnett by deed of 26th March 1851 endorsed on marriage settlement of 11 February 1842 --freehold close (4acres 3r 0p) in Upper Caldecot, Northill, as described in deed of 28 February 1845 and was conveyed to J. H. Astell and C. Barnett by whom the same had been purchased by sale proceeds of Covins Close. 2nd part: --3 cottages at Northill converted out of blacksmith's and wheelwright's shops in occupance George Course, together with bakehouse, etc and formerly occupation by John Roff, William Bruert and another afterwards of Thomas Eaton Rolfe, William Osbourne, James Hulton Brown and others and now of-, which were conveyed to i) by deed of 28 September 1842 between Robert Hepworth, clerk, Thomas Preston and John Harvey --Piece arable (11acres 3r 16p) being part Ickwell Field of which majority is in Northill and small portion-in South or South West corner-in Warden --piece of land being a long strip running East and West consisting of a spring and hedgerow (0acres 2r 16p) in Warden South Hill Lane other sides land of said John Harvey Said pieces of land were received by said John Harvey from Lord Ongley in exchange by deed of 21 March 1843 ---house called The Highlands in Northill, with lands woods, etc (383acres 0r 28p) late in occupation William Henry Burch Rosher --farmhouse in Warden Street called Sweet Briar Farm, with lands and woods (121acres 0r 9p) in occupation Mr Robert Neal Said 2 farms are more fully described in schedules to deed of 19 Octtober 1858 made between William Rosher and wife Isabella Belinda and John Harvey --close land (15acres 2rds 31p) at Thorncote in Northill North formerly Godfrey Thornton, then Stephen Thornton and late Godfrey Thornton, junior and now of i) East and South Incumbent of Northill West road from Northill to Thorncote Said piece of land was conveyed to John Harvey by deed of 4 February 1858 made between Rev George Thornton, clerk, and John Harvey --farmhouse, cottages, lands etc at Thornton Green, Northill, formerly occupation as 2 farms (136acres 0r 9p) All which were once the estate of Godfrey Thornton, senior, deceased and described in schedule to deed of 17 November 1858 bet 7 parties -cottage with garden (1 rd) and rights of common at Thorncote in Northill, once the estate of Robert Thomas, deceased -cottage erected on ground of said cottage and adjoining the same --close (1 acre) at Thorncote adjoining garden and also the estate of Robert Thomas, deceased Said property was once occupied by Robert Thomas and then by Thomas Gittons --The Field (1acre) at Thorncote, adjoining last described close, formerly also estate of said Robert Thomas Said premises were conveyed to John Harvey by deed of 27 November 1860 between Edward Bensley, gardener, and John Harvey -Budna farm, Northill (89acres 0r 17p), which was conveyed to John Harvey by Caroline Mary Thornton by deed of 29 September 1870 -land at Brook End, Northill (21acres) North land belonging to sd parish of Northill East Hitchin to Girtford Bridge turnpike road South Rector of Northill West said John Harvey Said piece of land was conveyed to John Harvey by deed of 2 February 1863 between Charles Thomas Heneage and William Powis, Allen Jeeves, and John Harvey 3rd part: -garden ground in Upper Caldecot, Northill, called Lower Padworth (22acres 7r 0p) North West public drain East &South Edmund Harvey, Esq West turnpike road from Hitchin to Girtford Bridge Said piece of land was conveyed to John Harvey by deed of 15 August 1863 between 5 different parties signatures (copy) all various witnesses
