  • Scope and Content
... to son, James Francis Judd - moiety or half part of all stock in trade or business of a grocer and china and earthenware dealer carried on by me and said son in co-partnership, he paying all the debts of the co-partnership ... to sons, William Thomas Emery Judd, James Francis Judd and daughter, Fanny Elizabeth Judd as tenants in common. If any of the children shall be indebted, at his decease, to him for any sum of money, this shall be deducted from said estates, whereas I have doubts in my own mind as to who may claim or become entitled to rights in property or real estate at Potton and elsewhere settled on marriage of late sister-in-law, Mrs Ann Strickland and it is his desire and desire of late mother-in-law, Mrs Ann Emery, and said sister-in-law that the property should be equally divided between my 3 children but if it should turn out that son William Thomas Emery Judd should become entitled to said prop as heir at law then, if said son, within 3 months of death of Thomas Strickland refuses to divide said estates between himself and brother and sister, then devise in his favour previously mentioned to be void and real estates and personal estates bequeathed to James Francis Judd and Fanny Judd only as tenants in common ... to sons James Francis Judd and William Thomas Emery Judd and to Samuel Emery Barnes, 2, College Place, Islington, wine merchant - all lands vested in me on trust or on mortgage said James Francis Judd, William Thomas Emery Judd and Samuel Emery Barnes appt executors will dated 16 Dec 1871 probate (PPR) 13 Sept 1872
