Case for opinion: recites C2226-7; Crawley has put new way & paths in repair, and enclosed old way by putting up pales at each end. Two inhabitants of Markyate Street, Hooker & Hopkins, pulled down pales. Crawley put them up again. Fifty cut down the pales in Crawley's presnce. Crawley put them up again. Since then they have been cut down at night. Endorsed: for Mr. Wilbraham. Opinion is that writ & inquisition are not sufficient without licence.
