Maps PLD 4/1 to 4/19 are a series of Ordnance Survey 1:2500 sheets used as working maps during the compilation of the Luton and Dunstable land use map of 1949 [PLD 4/20]. These working maps continued to be revised until the mid-1950s and can be used to trace the changes over the period, until the production of the 1958 Land Use Survey [PLD 4/24], which summarised the alterations. These working maps contain annotations which are missing from the finalised, smaller-scale maps of 1949 and 1958. All the working maps are coloured but there is no key - for suggested key, see introduction.
