  • Title
    Wills of Christopher Darell of Bethersden and of Holborn, esquire. Both wills give money to the poor of Little Chart, and financial bequests to various named persons. A codicil of 1676 adds money to nephew Sir John Francklin, and the later will extends this: to nephew Sir John Francklin, husband of niece Frances, eldest daughter of Sir Francis Clarke, rectory of Faversham, for life (renewing lease from church of Canterbury every 7 years), and then to John Darell, son of Major Darell; also to Sir John Francklin, manor of Bethersden, worth about £30 per annum, and residue of goods.
