    i) Thomas Walker, Esq, Thomas Owens, Charles Owen, gentlemen ii) John Matthews of Chancery Lane, London, gentleman, Thomas King, St Paul, Covent Garden, Middlesex, mercer, Michael Tovey, St Mary Staining, London, gentleman Reciting that a Commission in Bankruptcy has been awarded on 12 January last against John Tovey, St Martin in the Fields, Middlesex, scrivener, of which i) are 3 of the commissioners said John Tovey has for several years exercised the trade of a scrivener 'receiving other Mens Monies or Estates into his Trust ... and placing the same out on Securities and... transacting all Sorts of Business... as scriveners usually do'. At a meeting at the Guildhall, London, on 28 January last, of the creditors ii) were chosen to be assignees of the estate of John Tovey now i) bargain and sell ii) - 4 freehold messuages in Parkrs (sic) Lane, St Giles in the Fields, Middlesex, now in occupance Nubin Ford -14 freehold messuages in the Strand and Denmark Court in the Strand, Middlesex numbered 1, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21 and 22 -freehold messuage in Langford -Home Close adjoining -copyhold close in Langford called Knotts or Cottage Close (2 acres 3rods) -copyhold close in Langford called Flexmoore End close (1 acre) - copyhold close in Langford called Great Pyes Close (2 acres) -copyhold close in Langford called Church End Close (2 acres) -104 acres copyhold arable land in common fields of Langford now in occupance John Burges -copyhold messuage or cottage etc and close or pasture -16 1/2 acres arable in common fields of Langford purchased by John Tovey of Dutton Limbery -close pasture and 17 acres arable in common fields of Langford purchased by John Tovey from John Killingworth -Pyes Close in Langford, held of the Manor of Langford purchased by John Tovey of Walter Fisher -messuage etc and close pasture adjoining called Home Close held of the Manor of Langford and bought by John Tovey of Henry Ward and wife -cottage and close adjoining at Flexmoore End, Langford held of the Manor of Langford Rectory and purchased by John Tovey of John Searle all now in the occupation of ---- Cooper and John Burges -3 freehold closes (14 acres) in Sudbury in Eaton Socon -2 closes meadow, formerly in one piece, called Great Meadow in Eaton Socon(21 acres) -2 closes pasture in Eaton Socon(20 acres) -2 closes in Eaton Socon(18 acres) all now in occupance John Rawlins, Jeremiah Beasly and John Kington to be held by ii) to receive all arrears of rent, profits etc in trust for the creditors of John Tovey also ii) promise i) that they will sell and dispose of the property for the best price they can and will account for it to i) if requested.
