- Scope and ContentDear Mr Tucker, We are looking forward to our visit to the West Indies and are completing all our arrangements now. We have had to reverse our journeys in the Islands because three weeks ago the French Line calmly informed us that they could not give us return passages. We have decided therefore, to go home via the United States and New York. This means that we shall get off the "Colombie" at Trinidad on January 10th and come on to Jamaica later on. At the moment we have not fixed either the means of transit between Trinidad and Jamaica, or the date. I think it best to leave this until we arrive at Port of Spain. The time of our arrival at Jamaica, I think, will be towards the end of January. We have a passage booked from New York on March 14th so I expect we shall be in the Island for perhaps a month. I am proposing to leave these arrangements until we arrive at Trinidad. There will be two other friends with us, Mr and Mrs Nutt of Worthing. Thank you for all the help you have given us. I am looking forward to seeing you all. With kind regards. Yours truly, H C Janes.
