  • Scope and Content
Dear Mr Grant, I have received by Rudolph Cross's letter to you with regard to my visit to Jamaica. He evidently has not heard that I am not going until the New Year. It its well known to all the Jamaican leaders and has been known for some months that I shall not be going until that date. I was only able to obtain a passage on the French Line and am leaving on December 28th arriving at Jamaica on January 15th. I shall be very happy to go to Salter's Hill but it will not be time enough to suit Mr Cross's purpose. I feel, however, that whatever programme I follow when I arrive in the Island should be arranged by the Jamaica Baptist Union and I have already approached them about this. I am only intending to spend 3 weeks in the Island and a fortnight in Trinidad so that I do not think I shall make by any means an exhaustive tour of our Mission Stations, nor was that my intention, as I am going primarily for a holiday. However, I intend to be guided to a large extent by Mr Tucker and the other leaders there and if they include in my programme a visit to Salter's Hill I shall be pleased. I return herewith Mr Cross's letter. While writing, may I enquire how you are doing at Kingswood. I hope everything is alright with regard to the building. I am at your service if you should need any further help or advice. With kind regards. Yours truly, H C Janes.
