  • Scope and Content
Dear Mr Janes, Thank you for very much for yours of the 16th instant which came to hand yesterday. I was very glad to hear from you as I was eager to contact you in order that I may extend to Mrs Janes and you a personal invitation to Mount Carey - my home and Circuit - when you visit Jamaica. I now most glady and heartily be to convey that invitation to you. I hope to return to the Island from New York early in October. I think the best course for you to adopt is to communicate with the Reverend W E Allen, JP, Bethel Town PO [Post Office?], Jamaica BWI [British West Indies], the Secretary of the Baptist Union, and ask him to arrange an itinerary for you to visit as many churches as possible during your stay. Although you are going on your own many Pastors and Churches will be glad to have you, and entertain you. I would further suggest that as Jamaica is a bigger field than Turk's Island and Trinidad it would be advisable to spend at least two months there. Turks Island is in affiliation with the Jamaican Baptist Union. So you will get properly lined up about that Mission Field while in Jamaica. All being well I am looking forward to seeing you both when you get there and will do all I can to make your visit happy and memorable as the Baptists of Britain have made mine. With very kind regards and hoping my advice will be helpful. Yours sincerely E H Greaves. PS It would be advisable also to communicate with Reverend W W Jellyman MA (Acting Principal) Calabar College, Kingston, and letting him know of your expected visit and the time of your arrival. EHG.
