Scope and Content
Son William is to be a royal ward till age 21, because Podington parsonage and lands are held in chief; one-third of the lands in Podington being in royal hands, and two-thirds in the hands of executors during heir’s minority; together with all lands in Worcestershire.
To son Francis 10 acres freehold, 28 feet free meadow in Rushden;
To daughter Margaret £20, 26s. 8d. annual rent from Ditchford mills, and a bed;
To son William £20, 2 beds in the best chamber, with various hangings, and 3 of the best coffers; several pewter utensils; and clothing.
To son Francis £20.
To daughter Joan £20 and 20 shillings rent from a mill at Higham, and a bed.
To cousin Richard Payne, 10 sheep.
To sister Joan Hodges. 40 shillings.
To Podington church 3s. 4d.
