My dear friend
I am very glad to hear about Charlie. As you know, I talked to him very seriously and afterwards wrote to him. His life now depends on the strictest adherence to diet. Where does he get the food? Willie told me a few days ago that the authorities at Guy’s had been obliged to give up dealings with the man who supplied them because they had detected gross adulteration and that they now went to one who is honest.
