My dear friend,
Some months ago, your husband lent me a book which he had on gout. Will you kindly lend it to me again?
Will you also enclose with it the Voyage of the Beagle which I know is on your shelves? I shall not keep either of them for long.
I am very anxious to hear about Charlie. I wish you would tell me all you know at full length., every symptom, whether he suffers from sleeplessness still, depression etc. etc. and what is the last report as to the presence of sugar. Willie says there was no sugar when he saw him. I told Willie I thought he ought to write to you and say so.
I am as anxious about the boy as if he were my own child.
You will let me know when Rick is ready for the family Bible.
With best love to everybody
Ever faithfully
W. Hale White
