(ii) Francis Crawley & father Thomas Crawley of Luton - - a house called the court house & close called court close (5 acres), nr. churchyard; 2 closes called Hobbes meads lying together & next court close on one side & river on the other; the 'cawsey & ground throwgh which theire is a foote way leading from Blackwater bridge to Luton church'; close called Lt. Gallants (4 acres); close called Coppers croft (8 acres); both near Chiltern green; a meadow adjoining Blackwater lane, occupied by Edward Collier, (2 acres); recites that Thomas Crawley is seised of manor of Haverings for life with remainder to Francis Crawley; and that a parcel of pasture called Edon green had been reputed part of manor, & by this deed is also conveyed; witnesses: Nicolas Hampson, Cheny Rotherham, Thomas Creswell, Thomas Underwood; seals: arml. of Rotherham & Pain.
