recites:- (these being assigned to Carde) lease 1543-4 by Thomas Barnardyston of Ketton, Suffolk, esq., to Thomas Dermer of Luton, yeoman, of the manor of Dolowe with the mansion & buildings, court baron, & fines (except those from Agnes Wells) for 51 yrs.; lease 1574 by Francis Markeham of Brache mill, Luton, gent., to Thomas Dermer of Dollowe, yeoman, of Cowe croft, 8 acres, & another close called Streteleys next Buxtones wood, 5 acres, also 4 acres land at Dollowe Breck abutting south on Dunstable way & nigh the land late St. Albans Abbey, & 1 acre in Knights Field, for 16 yrs. witnesses: William Plomer, John Crane, Jonas Payne, George Cowper.
