Scope and Content
To his wife Mary: all the household goods which she brought at her marriage; 2 of his ""better sort"" of milch cows and 10 of the best ewes to be enjoyed immediately after his death.
To Mary's child by him, if any: £100 at 2 years; otherwise £40 to his grandson John Thompson and £60 to his grandson Robert Thompson. To his grandson John, the bedstead and cupboard and the best chest which are in "the little chamber where I doe lye" and the best table form and benchboard in the hall. To his child by Mary, if any, all his household stuff unbequeathed, otherwise to his grandsons John and Robert equally.
To Ann, wife of Oliver Denton: 50shillings within one year.
To Mary Thompson, daughter of John Thompson, £5 within 2 years.
To William Bonnington: 10shillings within 4 months.
To the poor of the parish of Northill: £5 for a 'towne stocke' within 1 1/2 years. The rest after payment of debts etc. to his son Robert.
