- Scope and Content- to son William, freehold estate, Bourton, purchaser of Thomas Pearce, & free & copyhold estate purchased of John Wirdnam & Joseph Cope as trustees for estate of John Smith, deceased; John Kent, customary heir apparent to surrender same to William Kent. - to wife Jane for life, annuity of £30 by way of rent charge on freehold Bourton estate purchased of Thomas Coker, & £200 - to son William annuity of £20; during the widowhood of testator's wife Jane £10 out of same estate - to John Kent, Ashbury & to brother Charles Kent, Wanboro' Wiltshire, all freehold estate purchased of Thomas Coker in trust to uses during term of 200 years, then to son John Kent. on condition he conveys copyhold to William; if he refuses then to son William Trustees to pay £1000 to Martha Kent (daughter) - to wife £20 and furniture that belonged to her before marriage, & chest of drawers in bedroom, a small oak table, 3 pairs of sheets, 2 silver tablespoons & set of blue cups & saucers - to son William 3rd & 4th best cart horses, with plough & cart harness, 2nd best waggon, best cart, 2nd best plough, 2 harrows to son William & daughter Martha £100 in equal shares ( which will become payable to testator on death of Mrs. Mary Wall of Idston) - residue of personal estate to son John. executor: John Kent; John Kent & trustees to be guardians of William Kent. 11 Jan 1799 codicil: change of trustee, 13 July 1799 Proved P.C.C. 29 Apr 1801
