    Ref. to fees paid to curate Mr Bapty/Baptye who served Wheatley's cure for 16 weeks @ £25 p.a., Shillington.-- Why should he claim to be paid more than Mr Hawkins paid him 'when he supply'd Shillington n the interval between Mr Bay's leaving and Mr Hawkins' coming to it? - Hawkins paid him 8s per sermon. No sacrament at any time during Mr Bapty's curacy. Ordering widow Rose to pay James Hanscombe 50s and Mrs. Rust 20s 'in order to complete the affair with Mr Bapty - after which you will have 2s 9d in hand for which I should be glad to have a dozen of the Grange pigeons per John Pestell'.
