    Depositions taken at the George Inn, Silsoe. Rev. Jeffrey Hawkins, Higham Gobion, clerk, v. Mr. Millard. Hawkins claims tithes from Barton alias Barton Field Closes and Togg Lake Closes, claiming that they lie in Higham Gobion parish. Depositions of Thomas Hill, Andrew Hundle, Thomas Brittain that for 50 years these closes have been considered to be in Flitton and Silsoe and that they have always been taken in in perambulation, except Blundell's Close which is in Higham Gobion, and part of another in Pulloxhill. William White swears that he knows the road mended by the inhabitants of Silsoe from Silsoe town end to the post which stands beside the road towards Barton, outside the ground Mr Millard rents near Mr Nicholl's grounds. William Peacock, who about 20 years ago was surveyor for Silsoe swears to the same effect. Thomas Giddings, Daniel Cotton, Edward Lawrence, William Crowley are ready to swear to same effect about the closes.Mr John Allen, Mr Birt and several others have examined a survey of Flitton fields made 14/15 September 1599 which confirms these statements. Charles Millard senior, Fielden, swears as above, and remembers the tithe of grain of Barton Field Closes being carried to Silsoe by one Allen & set out by one Rowath. Witnesses Philip Birt, John Allen, Charles Millard junior, Daniel Millard. Examination taken 24th September 1725, and these depositions made 7 May 1725 were allowed by Mr Hawkins to save having to examine witnesses again.
