- Scope and ContentDear Herbert, Thanks for yours of the 8th inst. I have already fixed up with my Agent to take the trip via Vancouver. The route via San Francisco is very interesting, but so is the Canadian Route and we cannot manage both this time round. In a future trip the route via East Indies, Japan, Honolulu, San Francisco and New York could be taken. It may be, comparatively speaking, rather boring crossing the Praries, but I should imagine that crossing some of the low lying States would be just as boring. I should like a chat with Mr James very much, but as I am negotiating with another Agent for the trip, and you have no doubt collected a number of tips from Mr James there does not appear to be much point in his taking the trouble to come down here. The cost of my round trip is quoted at £190-. approximately. This provides for single cabin between Auckland and Vancouver.Trusting you are all well, Yours truly, Sam
