    -- As to purchase of army commission for Thomas Rolt junior, out of fund of £7000 raised on recent sale of father’s estate. Recites:- 16 February 1746/7 (i) Thomas Rolt and wife Anne (ii) Cecilius Calvert and John Orlebar (iii) Richard Mead, doctor in physics, John Cooke esquire, George Turner esquire, and others, creditors of Thomas Rolt. Thomas Rolt agreed to procure an act of Parliament for sale of his estates in Lincolnshire to discharge debts, but including provision for Anne and children, for which purpose £7,000 to be paid into fund on trust. Act. 20 George II. Thomas Rolt’s manors and lands in Lincolnshire to be vested from 26 March 1747 in Cecilius Calvert and John Orlebar in trust to convey to Sir Dudley Ryder, knight, for £22,000:- manor of Sacombe with park, Hertfordshire; manors of Temple Chelsing, Hertfordshire; lands in Great Ormsby, Norfolk; farmhouse near Ayden Green, Huntingdonshire; manor of Chilworthy, Somerset; lands in Little Staughton, Great Staughton, Keysoe, Pertenhall. Graffham and Ellington; Thomas Rolt junior is now 18, and it is agreed that £1000 should be invested in an army commission for him. Witnesses.
