  • Scope and Content
Letter addressed to Mr H C Janes, "Larksnest", Richmond Hill, Luton. Dear Sir (or Madam), I am pleased to see that your daughter is taking up a "Free Place" in this school. This "Free Place" gives her the opportunity to have one of the best educations possible. I hope very sincerely, that you will do your utmost to keep your Agreement until the complete time has expired. We are all anxious for clever girls, whose parents cannot financially send them to a secondary school, to have their opportunity, and you will realise that the failure of "Free Place" pupils to remain in the school the stipulated time gives an impression that "Free Places" are not appreciated, and therefore not needed. I am, Yours faithfully, HELEN K SHELDON, Headmistress. Copy of 'Application for Admission' form attached, marked Copy
