--- To wife Mary, and kinsman Thomas Wells, Shefford, woolcomber, £400 in trust to uses:- to purchase lands and securities for benefit of daughter Elizabeth for life, remainder to children of Elizabeth, remainder to all the other younger children of the testiment in equal shares. --- to younger children Mary, Catherine, Penelope, William, Hugh, Ann, John, and Matthew, £3,600 in equal shares. Both sums charged on free and copyhold estates in Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire, with interest on same @ 5% unless eldest son chooses to maintain the younger children in a fit manner in which case he may retain the interest. --- all real estate and remainder of personal estate to eldest son James. Executors wife and father in law Thomas Smyth, also to be guardians of children till of age. Witnesses Elizabeth and Thomas Taylor, Joseph Halstead.
