- in 1818 and for several years in service of Joseph Morris, late Ampthill, brother of John Morris, late Ampthill, who died 1827; she knew the family of John Morris well, and remembers the marriage of Sophia the eldest daughter to Henry Ashby, Staines, 6 May, 1818, at the Society of Friends' Meeting House, Ampthill, according to the rites of the society. She was present at the birth of Morris Ashby, first son of the marriage, 17 May 1819, who is now living; Sophia Ashby died 6 Jan 1830.
