- Scope and Content - To cousin: Bartholomew Higgins of Weston Underwood, Pixhill Farm in occupation Allbone; Elderswell Farm in occupation Pearson; 454 acres; ""described as Lot 5 in Mr. Skinner's sale of Lord Peterborough's land 22 November 1786.""  To niece Sarah moiety of the great tithes of Turvey for life (then to nephew John), also leasehold house of Weston, and £4,000; To nephew John Higgins of Weston Underwood residue of lands in Turvey and those on the other side of the river in Buckinghamshire; To cousin Simeon Warner estates in Sussex, subject to payments to Warner's son Jacob & daughter Mary;To brother Thomas of Weston Underwood £5000.  Various other monetary bequests, including £1000 ""to the governors of the hospital of Bethlehem"", and to the governors of the London Hospital; the same to the minister and churchwardens of Turvey for clothing for 20 poor women annually in December,
and £500 to Weston Underwood for 10 poor women; also to the churchwardens and overseers of Turvey £300  for a salary for the Sunday School master, provided that others make up the salary to £20 p.a. To Mary Mitchell, testator's maid, £300; to Richard Wood,
testator's man, £300; to the men and maidservants at London Wall and at Turvey £10 for mourning.  Residue to cousin Thomas of London Wall, grocer. [Refers to purchase from Lord Peterborough in 1786 of lands for upwards of £16,000, for which he paid in
bank notes through his attorney at Newport Pagnell, in whom he has since lost confidence owing to difficulty in obtaining his deeds.]
