- Scope and ContentCapital Messuage called The Manor House with the garden next to it AND small garden on or next The Common in Clifton (late in the occupation of Samuel Henley Ongley and now of 2)) AND the Plantations on the sides of the Road leading from Clifton to Girtford Bridge up to the said messuage AND all other Plantations and Shrubberies, planted near the said messuage by and at the expense of 2) AND three closes or pieces of meadow or pasture ground in Clifton, adjoining called The Park, Back Mead and Clay Bridge Mead (5A,1R,1P), abutting on the Turnpike Road to Girtford Bridge AND small building adj S.H. Ongley's stables: Sadddle Room for 2) AND Old Cow House, intended to be converted into a stable AND former waggon hovel(converted into a coach house) (both buildings being near to the said messuage) AND wood house & pigsties in yard, where Dovehouse is AND all ways belonging etc Rent £12 10s pa (extra £30pa per acre for land converted to tillage without permission) No power to assign but 1) will pay £600 if Lease surrendered in the first five years; £400 if surrendered thereafter. Power of Samuel Henley Ongley to come and live at Clifton, if compelled to leave house at Sandy. Ongley then to pay for all alterations made by Fremantle Ongley to maintain hedges but not lop trees in Park Close Witness Isaac Hindley Note: Catherine(1780-1821) ,the daughter of Robert Henley Ongley, first Lord Ongley (1720-1785) and sister of Samuel Henley Ongley (1774-1822), married John Edward Fremantle on 27 March 1790. He died 31 March 1798 and she died 18 March 1821 without issue
