Letter (2 sheets) from Wilfred Hammond, marked: Belgium 12/12/16 My Dear People, Am writing a hurried note to send by a chum who is going on leave this morning. We are at present in the St. Eloi section of trenches near Ypres and it is one of the quietest parts known. We are in camp at present at Reninghelst near Poperinghe and Hazebrouch. When we were at the Somme we were at Flers, where I got my wound. At the old trenches we were at Ploegstreat facing Messines (in the German’s hands) and were near Armentieres. With love, Wilf
