Copy of letter from E L Waugh to Lancelot H Fletcher advising him on the winding up of the partnership with Koppers on the outbreak of war. ‘I don’t see that Solicitors can clear up very much more than I have said because the Crown Officials say they don’t quite know what the law is. It might be worth your while to write direct to the Board of Trade and tell them what is going on but how you could do better than you are doing I don’t know. You don’t propose to pay the “enemy” any money and are winding up your partnership.’
