Homage present that ( ? ) years since,Thomas Birchmore the elder, according to the custom of this manor surrendered into the hands of the lords 20 acres of arable with appurtenances lying in several closes in Caddington to the use Thomas Birchmore the younger and his heirs, and that at a court there holden before John Harvey Esq., late deceased steward of this manor he was admitted tenant, and for as much as the roll of that court cannot be found, and no copies thereof hath been delivered unto the said Thomas Birchmore the younger, therefore at this court he prayed that he might be admitted tenant againto the aforesaid premises. signed: William Barnes, steward
