Mary dau. Of (2a) reciting deed of 1st Oct 1690 between i) Thos Baynes and w. Mary ii) Joan Lilliott and John Faldo which itself recited Marriage Settlement 11 April 1685 bet. I) Thomas Baynes II) John Buroughs, Tandridge, Surrey, gent Joan Lilliott on the marriage of (I) and Mary Lilliott, being and agreement that (I) should purchase lands to the value of £50 p.a., in return for marriage portion of £400 and interest stating that £450 had been received by (i) and that (ii) were to purchase land to the uses of the settlement of the value of £502 CONVEYANCE (Release of a conveyance by L & R) by (1) to (2) for £140, to be taken as part of the £502, …mess. or tent. with appurts. in Potter Street, Bedford, with malting, barns, garden and orchard “as it is severed by the fence now standing from the now dwellinghouse and backside thereunto belonging” of (1a) and (1a) on the E aise (which fence is to be repaired by the owner of the property hereby conveyed) and by tenement of Thomas Boulstred brother of (1c), in the ten. of Hen. Scarborough, on the W., abutting S on the croft of the Master of St. John’s Hospital and N. on Potter St. which messuage and premises are in ten. Henry Peck, maltster, Sarah Boulstred and Susannah Janeway (and were formerly two messuages and tenements and as such were purchased by John Boulstred, grandfather of Felix B.,from Robert Goodhall and Elizabeth his wife) A lease in writing of all the premises save one chamber granted to Henry Peck for 4 years terminating at Michaelmas next is mentioned.
