    Conveyance by Bargain and Sale Parties: (i) Joan West of Bedford, widow; (ii) John Russell of Bedford, gentleman Operative Part - (i) conveyed (a)-(c) to (ii) for "a sufficient and competent some of monie" Property: (a) a messuage called the Towne Howse in Saint Paul's, Bedford in the occupation of Alyce Chrystye, widow enfeoffed to (i) by her late husband John by a deed poll of 25 Jul 1546 made to trustees William Sutton and Henrye Lawghton; (b) a messuage called the Rose in Bedford High Street formerly in the occupation of John West and situated between a tenement of Richard Lawrance, formerly in the occupation of John West N and a tenement of the Master of Saint John's Hospital, Bedford S; (c) a toft of ground in Saint Paul's, Bedford between the King's [sic] highway N and E and the castle S; in the occupation of Robert Paradyne (i) had (b) and (c) by an indenture made by her husband John and trustees Gerard Stanton and William Sutton on 16 Jan 1545 Witnesses: - Thomas Snagge; - William Adams; - Charles Pace The deed is annotated [presumably by Richard Moorer - see R6/5/2/6]: "my mother West her Release unto Jno Russell"
