  • Scope and Content
Written at The Wood House, Oxhey Road, Oxhey, Watford, Hertfordshire. ...I was very pleased to have your letter sent on by Howis. You didn’t give me much news. I suppose you are going on as usual at present. I am doing so, as I shall be staying here until Howis and Enid have to go to a conference, and they wish me not to go home to be alone. I think it is about the end of this month. I am going for a week to Reading next Friday; you know I have a friend there, and she has been wanting me to go some weeks ago. Howis and family seem to have had a wonderful time on the water. Enid says she will never settle down again after the lovely time they have had, but of course it couldn’t be better weather. There was every comfort in the Boat. 8 Bedrooms, Dining and Drawing Room and everything provided. They had some friends the last week which helped with the funds. I must take this to post; I won’t be so long writing the next time. The garden is still lovely. Bob and Margaret are gardening this afternoon. Well, you haven’t told me if Mrs. C. is still with you or Mrs.-someone else coming. Good bye for the present. My work is just about finished. Love to all I love.
