  • Scope and Content
Written at Harrold. Darling mother, We are getting on very nicely. We have had a piece of meat today they sent 10lbs. we had a piece of it cut off. We went to tea at Uncle Goff’s yesterday. Miss Jones was there and I had to read Esther Wyne in the Christian World to them [Esther Wynne, by Emma Jane Warboise?]. I was glad went [sic] Uncle Goff came in then I did not have to read any more. He read to us after tea how to make Cadbrey [sic] cocoa then he talked about making chocolate cream. I thought he might have given me a penny to buy some. We went to supper at Mr. Caleb's[?; Caleb Le Fevre?] on Thursday and had some fish. We are going to Mrs. Jones to tea tomorrow; you see we are quite gay. We had Yorkshire pudding today and we are going to have apple pie for dinner tomorrow. Tell Auntie I should like some of he[r?] Girdle cakes for my tea. I had a letter from Rosa yesterday and a letter from Aunt Lizze [sic] in it for you. I will enclose it and Arthur’s report. I should love to see Arthur’s report but I dare not open it. We water the plants and Greenhouse and feed all the animals. I hope that will satisfy you, dear mother. I must conclude. Give my love to Aggie, Pollie, Auntie and Uncle and very much to yourself, dear mother, your loving daughter May Excuse bad writing. What train are you coming by on Tuesday?
