Written at Thorpe Underwood Lodge, Northampton [thick mourning border]. ...Many thanks for yours yesterday. I was quite afraid it would be inconvenient to you for Miss Bell and I to come to-gether so I told her to tell you if it was I would wait until after Miss B. had paid her visit to you but from your letter yesterday I conclude you can manage with us both. All well are expecting Miss Bell here on Friday; we expected she would be coming as[?] today until I had a letter from her on Sunday to say she could not leave Collingtree before Friday. She says she shall be quite ready to come to Harrold the beginning of next week and has left me to fix the day with you. I wrote to her yesterday saying I though Monday would suit us best, but when I asked Alfred last night if he could take us to the station on that day he said he should not be at home but he could take us on Tuesday-- so if that day will suit you I think we will arrange to come on Tuesday next. What time in the day will suit you best to meet us? I have not felt quite so well this week. I walked to Chapel on Sunday morning and I think I walked too quickly for I felt very ill after I got into Chapel and was very faint so obliged to come out. I am a good deal stronger that I was some weeks since but still feel a weakness at my heart and my spirits are no better. The Doctor wishes me to have a change. I think it will do more for me than any thing else. I am not sleeping at all well and have had the face-ache the last few days. Clara and baby are at Mr.[?] Bate’s. They came on Monday. They are coming here next week. I had a letter from Lizzie on Saturday enquiring about our late servant. She said she had not one in view. It is very trying for her. I hope she may hear of one soon. Excuse this hastily written note; we are expecting Clara, baby and some of the young ladies down to tea this afternoon. How is Mr. Sanders? I am so glad that affair is settled. Accept much love from Your ever loving cousin.... Love and kisses for your little ones
